British Film Insitute London Film Festival

–2019

bringing POP-UP PREMIERES
TO LONDON’S FILM FANS

The BFI London Film Festival showcases the world’s best new films in venues across the city. From red carpet premieres of major blockbusters, to intimate screenings of the finest in new world cinema.

I had the pleasure of leading design and print for a second year at London Film Festival, BFI challenged us to create a temporary cinema to serve 30,000 filmgoers over 11 days in central London. We set out to create a cinema that wouldn’t feel temporary – a viewing experience to surpass that of permanent cinemas.

Over just 9 days, we constructed London’s 2nd largest cinema in Victoria Embankment Gardens, a beautiful park on the bank
of the Thames.

Here, up to 780 viewers enjoy new films for the first time, as well as Q&As with Directors and Cast. My Design and print including red carpet backdrop, box office design including a hanging acrylic installation, internal way finding signage and external signage.

Working with the triangle cascade in various print outcomes to attract extensive press and social media coverage and, most importantly, gains the approval of BFI members and London's film fans.
